Meet our teachers
Principal - Beth Kent
Beth has worked as a performing arts teacher since 2003, with three of those years at StageCoach in England and one year at Stagecoach in the Upper East Side. She is thrilled to be Principal of Stagecoach Brooklyn Heights.
Beth has a three year degree from the School of Performing Arts in London and achieved an Honors associateship Diploma from The London College of Music. She also studied contemporary drama at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and received a two year certificate when she studied with the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York.
In both London and New York, Beth performed in film, television, radio and theatre. She is a proud member of the Screen actors guild (SAG) and the American federation of film, televison and radio. (AFTRA)
Dance Coach - Brian Beach
Brian is a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, but he hails from Peoria, IL. He's appeared in National Tours of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL and most recently Dolly Parton's 9 TO 5. Regional productions which include WEST SIDE STORY, 42ND STREET, and The Who's TOMMY featuring Tony Nominee Euan Morton, and many more. Brian has also choreographed for many benefits and dance concerts throughout New York and the country. Member of the Actors Equity Association. Brian is thrilled to be part of StageCoach Theatre school.
Singing Coach - Michael Harren
Michael Harren studied Piano Performance and Music Composition at the University of Houston and with Dr. Robert Abramson at the Dalcroze Institute at The Juilliard School. He has extensive knowledge of the First Steps in Music/Conversational Solfege method developed by Dr. John Feierabend, and studied the Montessori Music Curriculum with Marcia Perez at The Mater Amoris Montessori School in Ashton, Maryland. He has been teaching music to children and adults for more than a decade. As a performer, Michael has appeared as a singer, actor, pianist and music director in New York City and throughout Texas.
Drama Coach - Emma Canalese
Emma is a graduate of the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre, NY and The Western Australian Academy of the Performing Arts. She has worked as a performing arts teacher for over 15 years both in Australia and New York in many different institutions including talent agencies, public high schools, private performing arts schools and The University of NSW. As a performer she has worked in Australia, UK, America and Taiwan as both an actor and dancer and has directed several shows Sydney and New York.
She is very excited to be a part of the Stagecoach team!
Early Stages Coach - Emily Freilicher
Emily is a New York-based Musical Theatre teacher, voice coach, and performer. She is thrilled to be part of the StageCoach team. She is, also, a guest lecturer on the topic of Content Creation at Emory University. Emily has created and directed several award-nominated cabarets at Emory University, The Iguana, and The Tarrytown Music Hall. She has performed in numerous full-length productions, readings, and showcases with The Lark Theatre Company, We've Got Class troupe, 13th St Repertory, The Puzzle Festival of New Works, among others. She has studied Musical Theatre since she was 8-years-old and has had the privilege to be taught by Rob Kramer, Sherry Overholt, Mimi Turque, and Nancy Cooper, just to name a few. Emily holds a BA from Emory University. She is thrilled to be a part of the Stagecoach family!
