StageCoach Main Schools operate for three hours each week during the school year, either after school or on weekends. Developed for kids and teens between the ages of 6 and 18, the schools are split into three groups of similar ages. Each group rotates, taking part in a one hour singing classes, one hour dance class and one hour drama class, where kids gain confidence, self-esteem and learn to express themselves creatively and effectively. These skills, acquired while learning the skills of performance, do not disappear when they come off stage, they are skills for life.
Each of the classes are run by professional dance, drama or singing teachers and many are currently working in the professional industry. All teachers and Principals undergo a criminal background check. StageCoach however is not just for performers, it is also for those who wish simply to enjoy learning to act, sing and dance. The StageCoach ethos is to enable children and teenagers to grow, gradually and at their own speed, into effective human beings. At the same time our caring and talented teachers and principals make sure they keep their feet firmly on the ground.
The curriculum is broad enabling students to experience a wide range of styles and skills.
Dance classes help to improve coordination and technique and give the opportunity to learn popular pop and street dance routines along with musical theatre ensemble pieces.
During drama, young people will explore their creativity through improvisation and role play, improving vocabulary, social awareness and communication skills.
The singing class will introduce students to different rhythms and tempos in music allowing them to challenge themselves with a wide range of songs while improving technique and vocal ability.
Fun is an essential element of any program and StageCoach has learned one truth over many years: Children love to achieve and they like to do so in a disciplined environment.
At StageCoach we don't set out to create fun, the students do that for themselves.
