Meet our teachers


Principal - Lisa Mitchell - MA in Teaching
Lisa Mitchell received her BA in Education from WOSC and her MA in Teaching from Pacific University. She has always loved working with children and has had a passion for the arts since she was young. Lisa has performed in local theatre and as a child in television commercials. StageCoach seems like the perfect way to fulfill both interests while sharing the performing arts with a new generation of students. Lisa's Father and Grandfather both enjoyed lifelong careers in the film industry, so she was raised visiting filmsets around the globe. She and her family love to travel and have lived in many different countries.
Dance Coach - Rosalind Fell - British Equity Former Member
Rosalind graduated from the Arts Educational College in London, England. She then went on to work in theatre and television as a jazz dancer and an actress. As a dancer, she has performed at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, as well as many other venues in and around London. In addition to a variety of commercial credits, Rosalind has appeared in many BBC television productions.
Since moving to Portland, Rosalind has performed in "Lettice and Lovage" Lakewood Theatre, "Woman in White" SAT, "Willy Wonka" New Moon Productions, "The Odd couple" and "Blithe Spirit" Beaverton Civic Theatre, and "Pride and Prejudice" Quintessence Theatre. Rosalind has also been teaching musical theatre and assisting with the choreography for "Seussical", "Jungle Book", "Alice in Wonderland" and "Wizard of Oz" at Chapman Elementary School.
Rosalind also works as a dialect coach and is a former member of British Equity.
Singing, Dance Coach - Kristina Rector
Krissy Rector started performing professionally at the age of 16, touring internationally as a musical theater and dramatic performer. Since then she has worked with multiple theater companies throughout the US including an Off Broadway show. Krissy can also be spotted in commercial and printwork. She has had the priveledge of training with such noted individuals as Boris Leskin (former professor of film-NYU), Courtenay Collins (Broadway's Christine-Phantom of the Opera), Tracy Edwards (Broadway's Tracy-Hairspray), Ben Cameron (Broadway's Footloose and Wicked), Jeffrey Scott Bailey (Broadway's A Chorus Line) and Bill Newberry (Music Director- The Fox Atlanta).
In 2008 Krissy created an acting program for the North Georgia Dance and Music Factory and became the head teacher of both the acting and musical theater departments. As a teacher she has taught regular classes as well as workshops, summer camps and master classes in the disciplines of music, acting, ballet, tap, jazz and theater dance. Krissy is excited to be here at StageCoach and offer her knowledge and experience as a teacher, performer, director and choreographer.
Singing Coach - Teri Meyer - BA in Music and Theatre MA in Teaching
Teri Meyer is a graduate of Eastern Washington University with a BA in both Music and Theatre, and is a recent graduate of Western Oregon University with a Masters in Teaching. She plays the piano, french horn, sings, dances and acts. Teri has an extensive background teaching singing and dance to children aged 5 to adult. Teri is involved with many area high school and middle school theatre programs and loves coaching and accompanying young performers for regional/state acting and music competitions. When not working with youth in musical theatre, Teri likes spending her free time outside working in the garden, reading, and enjoying the sunshine. She is very excited to join the StageCoach team and looks forward to meeting many new talented performers.
Drama Coach - Sara Kennedy Adams - BA Theatre Arts
Sara received her BA in Theatre Arts at Southern Oregon University.
Sara has been a theatre instructor for Oregon Children's Theatre since 2002, has taught theatre and music courses for Portland Parks & Recreation and has co-directed many productions at Multnomah Arts Center. In addition, she has been a coach and performer for Play Write Inc. Sara is a professional actress and most recently appeared as Sally in Found Lives: The Inner Lives of People with Schizophrenia (New Moon Productions and OHSU Psychiatry). Other credits include Bonnie Irate in Wonderbroads (Broad Arts Theatre) and Nasrudin in Trickster Tells this Story (Play Workshop Theatre). Sara has sung in various choirs and was the lead vocalist in the rock band, Oracle. Her objective in teaching is to demonstrate how theatre can expand children's self-confidence and imagination; improve their vocalization, physicality, creativity, and ability to improvise and work with others; and inspire them to use these skills in their day-to-day lives.
Drama Coach - Brandon Woolley - BFA Theatre Performance & Directing
Brandon Woolley is a recent Summa Cum Laude graduate of Baylor University. He received his BFA in Theater Performance with a certificate in Arts and Entertainment Marketing. He has trained extensively in multiple acting disciplines including Stanislavksi, Meisner, and Viewpoints to name just a few. His holistic approach to theater enabled him to perform extensively in college. As an assistant director, Brandon has worked at Portland Center Stage (Sunset Boulevard, A Christmas Story, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest) and Broadway Rose Theater Company (Hairspray). He is also currently working as the Company Manager at Portland Center Stage. He moved to Portland in June 2010 to start work as an artistic intern at PCS and was promoted to Company Manager only 4 months later.
Brandon is delighted to join the StageCoach team to explore multiple areas of acting with the Further Stages students.
Early Stages Coach - Eve Orient Bernfeld - MA Theatre Education Emerson College
Eve Bernfeld holds a B.A. in Theatre Performance from Fordham College at Lincoln Center and an M.A. in Theatre Education from Emerson College. In addition, she has had the opportunity to study at the Singers Forum, HB Studio and Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York and The Second City, ImprovOlympic and The Annoyance in Chicago, among many others. Having previously performed and taught in New York, Boston, Chicago and Jackson Hole, Eve is thrilled to call Portland home. She also teaches at the Vernon School SUN Program and at the Portland Playhouse. She is currently in her third (and final) year at the Oregon Center for the Alexander Technique, where she is training to become an Alexander Technique teacher. Eve loves teaching students of all ages, but particularly enjoys facilitating the journey of young children, helping them to acquire the skills of self-awareness, self-expression and self-regulation that will help them succeed in all their life endeavors.
