EarlyStages students spend an hour and a half singing, dancing, acting, and building confidance through ensemble and solo work. Over the course of the term, our teacher helps each child create a character based on something that excites them - we've had princesses, astronauts, and even sharks on our stage! - then writes a play structured around the characters they have created. The result is an original play inspired by the ideas of each child in the class.
For the Spring term, starting April 6, students will work on scenes and songs from "The Wizard of Oz", and on the last day parents and friends are invited to watch the big show!
Sing - Sing your favorite song! Children learn to identify where and how sound is formed in their bodies through the singing lessons. They discover the importance of timing and rhythm, improving diction, while learning lyrics.
Dance - In the kids dance classes, motor skills are refined along with balance and coordination. Simple dance moves allow the kids to express themselves freely while working in group.
Drama - Building on the exciting imaginations of young children, the drama classes are full of ideas to take children on the wildest of journeys. Social skills are also learned and young kids gain the tools to enable them to share and be giving. As they grow and develop, kids find it easier to express themselves physically and emotionally.
